Text Quotes
I’m not in the business of reading tea leaves. I don’t have a crystal ball.  (Reading Quotes) Some contemporary mediums dislike the term ‘psychic’ because they feel it carries a negative connotation, leading people to associations with crystal balls, tea-leaf reading, fortune-telling, or other stereotypes.  (Reading Quotes) I’m entranced by the idea of reading the culture back to itself, because I’m conscious that we as people and also as a culture are myth-making machines. So I’m interested in a resistance to that: What we can bend, what we can break.  (Reading Quotes) I love being home, reading the paper in the morning and having a cup of coffee, doing laundry, going grocery shopping and running daily errands. For me, it’s important to have that balance in my life.  (Reading Quotes) I was reading Omar Khayyam, Kahlil Gibran, Rumi, L. Ron Hubbard, all sorts of philosophy. Bebop cats are like that. Curious. I wanted to know about everything.  (Reading Quotes) I have to admit that ‘Psychology Today’ was one of the first magazines I started reading, back when I was 13 or 14, because I was the kind of kid that was curious about the mysterious human mind - I hoped to learn about telekenisis, multiple personalities, psychosis, and various other cool and terrible things that happened inside people’s heads.  (Reading Quotes) I try to be a good human being and keep up with what’s going on in the world by reading and staying in touch with the current events.  (Reading Quotes) I was on a very bumpy plane ride, an overnight flight. I was so miserable, and I pulled out ‘David Copperfield,’ and I forgot how scared and tired I was, and I thought, ‘This is what reading should be.’ I’m utterly transported out of my current situation.  (Reading Quotes) I can’t claim to be disenchanted with the current state of fiction because I read so little of it. My reading is mostly drawn to history.  (Reading Quotes) Deprived of the opportunity to judge one another by the cars we drive, New Yorkers, thrown together daily on mass transit, form silent opinions based on our choices of subway reading. Just by glimpsing the cover staring back at us, we can reach the pinnacle of carnal desire or the depths of hatred. Soul mate or mortal enemy.  (Reading Quotes) How can a man know how to live rightly on the face of earth? By daily reading and meditation on the Holy Scriptures and obedience to what is written.  (Reading Quotes) I confess, I do have to remind myself almost daily that there are people on this earth capable of reading, writing, eating and dressing themselves who believe their lives are ruled from billions of miles away, by the stars - and, of course, the planets.  (Reading Quotes) A man’s reading program should be as carefully planned as his daily diet, for that too is food, without which he cannot grow mentally.  (Reading Quotes) Give the villagers village arithmetic, village geography, village history and the literary knowledge that they must use daily, i.e. reading and writing letters, etc.  (Reading Quotes) In my downtime, you’ll mostly find me curled up with a book. I love reading biographies. My favourites are those of Dalai Lama, Osama Bin Laden, and Einstein.  (Reading Quotes) Writing can come naturally to some. Still, when it comes to good writing, this is true: Easy reading is damn hard writing.  (Reading Quotes) I remember reading the script for ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ and thinking that I could quite happily spend the rest of my life watching this film; the story and the writing were so wonderful.  (Reading Quotes) I am so sick of reading about another car bomb, another suicide bomber, another 10, 20, 30, 70, 100 people dead in a day, both Americans and Iraqis.  (Reading Quotes) Just as you wouldn’t leave the house without taking a shower, you shouldn’t start the day without at least 10 minutes of sacred practice: prayer, meditation, inspirational reading.  (Reading Quotes) I reckon if I can’t spend the day sleeping, the next best thing is to spend it reading and drinking.  (Reading Quotes) I do believe that one’s writing life needs to be kept separate from Po-Biz. Personally, I deal with this by not attending too many poetry readings, primarily reading dead poets or poems in translation, reading Poets and Writers only once for grant/contest information before I quickly dispose of it, and not reading Poetry Daily. Ever.  (Reading Quotes) There’s nothing like reading about a world that feels dead to throw your own beautiful, colorful life into sharp relief.  (Reading Quotes) In a world where meaning is often absent or imposed, reading offers a dialogue with ourselves, with society, with history, and with the dead.  (Reading Quotes) Most of my reading is based on what I’m working on. I did a series of paintings based on the seven deadly sins, so I read Dante and then Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost.’ That was a bit hard going.  (Reading Quotes) No one bothered reading the books and understanding - and again, I’m not being high-falutin’ about it - but I think our books are great literature with great metaphors of real life dealing with fears and hopes.  (Reading Quotes) Not reading a beautiful book again because you’ve already read it, that is, as if you were not visiting a dear friend again because you know him already.  (Reading Quotes) Some have suffered death to make it possible for us to have the scriptures today. Historically, the scriptures in the Bible were reserved for the clergy, with the reading of them by others being denounced. At times, laws even prohibited the public or private reading of them.  (Reading Quotes) Reading Poe was like a near-death experience, the kind that makes you feel fragile and free in its wake. I felt almost as though I’d scared myself alive.  (Reading Quotes) As far as benefits to reading historical novels, there are several! For one thing, you learn about life in another era. Secondly, these novels help us to develop a deeper understanding of the legacy of women who came before us and the strides made by our ancestors.  (Reading Quotes) If I couldn’t use food or love to define contentment, I would use reading  (Reading Quotes)
