Text Quotes
There’s certain things as a songwriter that I don’t really care to write about, and there are certain things I won’t sing about anymore. There are just so many things that I probably thought was OK for me, or have been in the past, that I would never want my son to think was OK.  (Sing Quotes) Here’s a little song I wrote. You might want to sing it note for note. Don’t worry, be happy.  (Sing Quotes) If you can play guitar and sing, you can probably get a gig down the road playing at a restaurant, but don’t throw your life away chasing something that is so elusive it will only lead you to regret and may turn you bitter.  (Sing Quotes) I really wish I could sing so I could front a band, because that would be a dream come true, totally. I want to sing. Can’t do it though.  (Sing Quotes) It was your song that made me sing It was your song that gave me wings It was your light that shined guiding my heart to find This place where I belong It was your song Dreams can come true With God’s great angels like you  (Sing Quotes) I try not to perform. I try to come on stage and be myself, to sing the way I would in a room by myself, to interact with the audience the way I would relate to them if we were in my kitchen drinking tea and making up silly songs. Maybe the way to get past the fear of being ourselves is simply to try it more often.  (Sing Quotes) Mama took me in her arms and held me tight. Her embrace was hot and she smelled like sweat, dust, and grease, but I wanted her. I wanted to crawl inside her mind to find that place that let her smile and sing through the worst dust storms. If I had to be crazy, I wanted my mama’s kind of crazy, because she was never afraid.  (Sing Quotes) I can still sing most Eagles songs, even though I never bought a record and never liked the band  (Sing Quotes) I’m awful at karaoke, but if I did have to sing, I’d go for my favourite Frank Sinatra song ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin.’ The fact I love Frank is my grandfather’s doing: he drummed it into me from a very early age that Frank Sinatra is God.  (Sing Quotes) In my early life, I was a professional folk singer. I used to sing on the national television and radio in Canada. Nobody knows that - but now I’ve said it, haven’t I? I’m strictly a shower singer at the minute.  (Sing Quotes) There was a knight came riding by In early spring, when the roads were dry; And he heard that lady sing at the noon, Two red roses across the moon.  (Sing Quotes) My dad has a lot of foresight and decided that I would not do any shows in Mumbai till I became a singer and got to sing my own songs. He knew that if I started earning money from shows, I would not have the time and aggression to rough it out to become a singer.  (Sing Quotes) Joy to the world, the Lord is come / Let earth receive her King / Let every heart, prepare him room / And heaven and nature sing.  (Sing Quotes) Glory to God in highest heaven, Who unto man His Son hath given; While angels sing with tender mirth, A glad new year to all the earth.  (Sing Quotes) I’ve always thought it was easier for girls to sing harmonies because their voices can go to that higher plane so much more easy than a male voice.  (Sing Quotes) Performing was easy because I believed that I could sing, but that was an outside thing  (Sing Quotes) We used to sing along to Judy Garland and Ella Fitzgerald records together. She had the most amazing voice ... She’s always encouraged me, and she’s still that person who, when things look dire, lifts me up and reminds me of who I am and that we all have a capacity for greatness.  (Sing Quotes) I think Elvis Presley is a crooner. Even people like Eddie Vedder, I hear him sing some things and I go wow. Seal, that kind of nice voice, too.  (Sing Quotes) The artist can’t paint, sing, or dance without emotion: if he does, he is a machine masquerading as a person.  (Sing Quotes) Naturally, women are drawn to a man who understands the subtlety of emotions, and they know I’m a passionate man. But the reason I try to keep myself in shape is so I can sing better, not to look good.  (Sing Quotes) I love rock ballads, and I’m kind of in emotional turmoil, being ill and high, so I start to sing to the song, I turn it up and start to sing.  (Sing Quotes) No matter your wreckage. There will be someone to find you beautiful, despite the cruddy metal. Your ruin is not to be hidden behind paint and canvas. Let them see the cracks. Someone will come to sing into these empty spaces.  (Sing Quotes) I love to sing and play the piano. As a child, I’ve always loved to sing my heart out, and even my teachers encouraged me to take up singing.  (Sing Quotes) I enjoy the process of composing music. The first time I hear a song, it has to bring a smile to my lips. You have to tap your feet and be able to sing the song.  (Sing Quotes) I don’t know if I was funny as a child, though I always thought my parents really enjoyed listening to me sing.  (Sing Quotes) I’ll sing as long as I can because I enjoy doing that. I enjoy the fans and what I do. I love the traveling and the hotels and just seeing the world over and over again.  (Sing Quotes) The sirens sing sotto voce these days, and the young already have enough wax in their ears to pass them by without danger.  (Sing Quotes) When you enter the realm of politics, you don’t enter it because you want to be popular. When I want to be popular, I pull on a guitar and sing a song.  (Sing Quotes) The first one I remember singing on stage was ‘Somewhere Out There’ from ‘An American Tail.’ I was around 7, and my choir teacher at school asked me if I would sing it. My parents told me that I needed to move around the stage, so for the entire time I just walked back and forth from side to side while I was singing - there’s videotape of it.  (Sing Quotes) My approach is so simple; every song I sing, every story I tell, every move I make, must move the audience to laughter, tears, or inspiration. Otherwise, why do it? It’s the communication.  (Sing Quotes)
