Text Quotes
I like to give dimension to shots inside action scenes. It’s demanding because you have to rehearse a lot of things happening at the same time and frame all those things in a shot. But I feel like when you accomplish that then you’ve got a cool action scene.  (Scene Quotes) What gives my books authenticity is that I actually do what it is I’m writing about. I think the fact that I am in the autopsy room, I go to the crime scene and I do work in the lab gives my books this flavor that otherwise they wouldn’t have.  (Scene Quotes) O God, that men should put an enemy in their mouths to steal away their brains! - Cassio (Act II, Scene iii)  (Scene Quotes) I think I can speak with a degree of authority... today, the biggest driving force of movies is pace; God help you if you try to put in a scene that is about character and not plot.  (Scene Quotes) In Hollywood, you’ve got a hundred people on set, and shooting the sex scene you’re wearing nude-toned underwear and tape on your nipples. Nothing is going beyond where you want it to go.  (Scene Quotes) I think movie making can sometimes make you lazy in your approach. Occasionally you’ll be shooting a scene and it’s not even your coverage but you’ll catch yourself slipping away and you’ll see your mind going somewhere else. But you just can’t afford to do that on stage.  (Scene Quotes) The thing is, I love a great death scene - no good actor doesn’t. Sorry, any actor, I should say.  (Scene Quotes) I’d rather have one good scene in a movie by a great director than a small role in a mediocre movie.  (Scene Quotes) There’s a late-night scene in every town, and everyone has something going on, ... I’ve heard good stories about (Syracuse); this is a very good party town, a good drinking place. I definitely would like to come back and check it out further. Do some more research, as I call it.  (Scene Quotes) Watching a really good movie excites me, because it makes we want to get up off the couch and go shoot something and act in a scene.  (Scene Quotes) I believe how you measure a good movie is how many times you can see it. With comedies, I like to be a producer, because comedies can get corny and go off track real fast. I’m always the ‘less is more’ guy when it comes to a scene. So I’ma be the one who will keep it grounded.  (Scene Quotes) So, for the most part, I really like when I read a scene that scares me and makes me sweat a little bit, thinking about doing it. That’s usually a good sign to me.  (Scene Quotes) Working on a soap opera is such good training for the novice actor. No rehearsal, 120 pages of dialogue per week, and one take to get the scene right. No room for error.  (Scene Quotes) You have the older generation like Iris Murdoch and Angus Wilson who are not as old as Graham Greene, but still are coming on. I dare say anyone who knew the scene better than I know it could fill it in with a very satisfactory supply of novels.  (Scene Quotes) You always absorb a lot from a great actor. What you want, as an actor, no matter where you are in your career, is a partner who’s going to bring everything they have to the scene.  (Scene Quotes) I gotta say, Pluto is such a great character, and if I ever got to work with him, I’d be very happy. The scene where he gets caught in fly paper, he’s such a great dog!  (Scene Quotes) They hadn’t much faith in travel, nor a great belief in a change of scene as a panacea for spiritual ills; they were simply glad to be going.  (Scene Quotes) I STILL APPROACH A SCENE AS ONE WOULD APPROACH A GUITAR SOLO. YOU DON’T EXACTLY KNOW HOW YOU’RE GOING TO PHRASE THIS OR THAT. WHICH I THINK IS BEAUTIFUL. THAT IDEA OF CHANCE.  (Scene Quotes) I was never into hanging out on the Sunset Strip. When it came to Guns N’ Roses and the scene that was going on then, that was something we pretty much hated. That was what we had to scratch and claw through, and as soon as we got established enough to leave, we never went back.  (Scene Quotes) The Beatles were no trouble... lots of girls. The Stones were black-jacketed guys, a rough crowd. A whole different scene between the Stones’ black leather jackets and the Beatles’ pretty-dressed girls with the ribbons in their hair, teenagers standing on the seats screaming, nothing broken.  (Scene Quotes) We met [with Massimo Pupillo] many years ago in the halcyon days of the underground avant-prog math-rock scene when I was playing in Guapo...  (Scene Quotes) I was really impressed with Naomi [Watts]. She was a producer, and she was doing things that I wasn’t really aware of. The way she was able to switch from handling problems to shoot a really difficult scene, I think is a real testament to her true ability.  (Scene Quotes) I’m a spoilt brat. I thought I was just going to walk in and make movies. But I’d been my own boss for so long that all of a sudden to be facing a roomful of people who were niggling over every little scene... I just thought I’d go back and draw my comics and have a happy life.  (Scene Quotes) I was into the music scene, but I was also a bit of a perfectionist and very hard on myself... very dark in that way.  (Scene Quotes) The romance stuff is easy. A sex scene... that’s hard, because you don’t know what to do. Those scenes are awkward.  (Scene Quotes) Harrison Ford comes on set, and he’s very polite and says, ‘Hello’ to everyone. He cares about everything that’s going on, on set. He cares about what’s going on with your character and what’s in the scene and what’s on the desk.  (Scene Quotes) When I got to New York City when I was 18, I started playing in clubs in Brooklyn - I have good friends and devoted fans on the underground scene, but we were playing for each other at that point - and that was it.  (Scene Quotes) It really depends, but, generally speaking, just because of the mechanics of it, voice-over is easier because there is no hair, no makeup, no wardrobe, no fittings, no line memorizing. You don’t have to me woken up in Russia at 6 in the morning and go film a scene. It’s just easier on the body, the family life to do voice-overs.  (Scene Quotes) I hate when there’s a deleted scene on a DVD with no explanation, or you have to go out of your way to find an alternate audio track.  (Scene Quotes) I’m not a theoretician about playwriting, but I have a strong sense that plays have to be pitched - the scene, the line, the word - at the exact point where the audience has just the right amount of information. It’s like Occam’s razor.  (Scene Quotes)
