Text Quotes
There is a scene in Richard Attenborough’s biopic where Gandhi argues with his wife because she refuses to clean their latrine. She says it is the work of untouchables; he tells her there is no such thing. Gandhi’s tactics of encouraging brotherly love across caste boundaries and urging Indians to clean their own latrines had failed miserably.  (Scene Quotes) Plot and scene are still the hardest things for me, though I think they’re the building blocks of what makes a story work.  (Scene Quotes) Building the scene, going out and doing shows and connecting with the fans, cultivating the fanbase in all these cities. I’m very glad that it’s happening.  (Scene Quotes) I know exactly what it’s like to stand on top of a tall building or in a high place and look down and go, ‘Ohhhh my God.’ I try to get into that place every time I write a scene like that. And definitely when I write the action scenes, I get overheated and my heart goes really fast. I get very involved.  (Scene Quotes) I personally think a fight scene is the most cinematic thing you can witness because all the elements of filmmaking come together, you know, with the camera speed changes, editing, make up effects and general smoke and mirrors of trying to make it look like you are hitting someone when you’re not. It’s filmmaking in it’s purest form, I think.  (Scene Quotes) The scene was attempted a second time, up on top of the fort, and cameras didn’t even roll. Michael, though he wasn’t admitting it, wasn’t sure how to shoot the scene.  (Scene Quotes) In a way, as an actor, you do all the preparation and then you want to forget it and just play the scene. As a director, you can’t forget it because somebody will remind you that you forgot something. But you can know your plan well enough that you still have a certain amount of freedom.  (Scene Quotes) There was a little less pressure to be fit on ‘The Avengers’ than ‘Captain America.’ I had just finished ‘Captain America,’ so I was already built. Plus, ‘Captain America’ has that one scene dramatic scene where my transformation is revealed. ‘The Avengers’ has not one shirtless scene.  (Scene Quotes) I was in the car driving back, after having done a scene where I kill somebody, and I just said to the driver, I can’t talk right now. I’m too emotional. The whole car ride back, I was just crying.  (Scene Quotes) I don’t give parties, and I’m not in that social scene. I couldn’t care less.  (Scene Quotes) I never cared about making one coherent masterpiece with a conventional narrative. I always wanted my movies to have images falling from all directions in a vaudevillian way. If you didn’t like what was happening in one scene, you could just snooze through it until the next scene.  (Scene Quotes) I like getting carried away by what is happening and then decide each scene based on the actors, the set and the light.  (Scene Quotes) There are many cultural scenes in Lahore, just as there are in London. And there is a celebrity culture here, just as there is in London. But in Lahore, the celebrity scene doesn’t drown out the rest quite so much.  (Scene Quotes) The thing with film and theater is that you always know the story so you can play certain cues in each scene with the knowledge that you know where the story’s going to end and how it’s going to go. But on television nobody knows what’s going to happen, even the writers.  (Scene Quotes) The world’s a scene of changes, and to be constant, in nature were inconstancy  (Scene Quotes) If you don’t like the scene you’re in, if you’re unhappy, if you’re lonely, if you don’t feel that things are happening, change your scene. Paint a new backdrop.  (Scene Quotes) Depending on what I’m working on, I come to the writing desk with entirely different mindsets. When I change form one to the other, it’s as if another writer is on the scene.  (Scene Quotes) When you’re writing a screenplay every scene needs to change from positive to negative, or negative to positive, and constantly trying to change the values of the movie.  (Scene Quotes) As for my identity within the context of New York nightlife? I left in the 90s, so I’m not part of the scene anymore. I’ll always be interested in what’s happening downtown, and I try and keep up with the changing faces on social media.  (Scene Quotes) A movie and a stage show are two entirely different things. A picture, you can do anything you want. Change it, cut out a scene, put in a scene, take a scene out. They don’t do that on stage.  (Scene Quotes) I changed my mind because of a scene between Howard Cunningham and Richie. The father-son situation was written so movingly, I fell in love with the project.  (Scene Quotes) It was definitely a big change in my life going from the college scene to really kind of being on my own. I got married and moved to Houston and started a whole new journey. It was scary in a way, but what’s great for me is just focusing on gymnastics and my wife. I’m really able to put 100% into what my goals are.  (Scene Quotes) If a character dies, you get to do a big, juicy death scene. But the flip side is you’re out of the sequel, which is where the real money is.  (Scene Quotes) Use description of landscape to help you establish the emotional tone of the scene. Keep notes of how other authors establish mood and foreshadow events by describing the world around the character.  (Scene Quotes) I chose not to go home and struggle with the New York scene. My size sort of locked me out. I was too short for the stage. I would have been doing character roles, so I went to Los Angeles. There is a lot more happening out there. I also felt it was important to break away from my family.  (Scene Quotes) I moved to Los Angeles, and ‘The Office’ became successful, and the charity/cocktail party circuit is really not my scene. But I played golf, and I started getting invited to charity golf events, and I just fell in love with the game ten-fold, and at a lot of these events, there were athletes.  (Scene Quotes) We have military bases all over the world, and that’s purely to protect our portfolio abroad. Our investments, and our production, our exploitation of cheap labor and raw materials. We’re on the scene to do that, and the military is there to see that it happens.  (Scene Quotes) Chicago’s like Melbourne - there’s a city center, there’s public transport, and there’s more of a cultural scene.  (Scene Quotes) I have a painter’s memory. I can remember things from my childhood which were so powerfully imprinted on me, the whole scene comes back.  (Scene Quotes) I’m blessed with three children who actually aren’t terribly impressed with pandering to my ego, and one of my children has a bit of a problem with the sex scenes because when she reads the stuff, she hears my voice in her head, and apparently reading a sex scene written by your mother with her describing it is rather off-putting!  (Scene Quotes)
