There’s pressure to come up with something genius every time. I feel like I keep letting myself down with my Twitter posts. I have to start keeping a journal of rough drafts of prophetic ideas about the world  (Rough Starts Quotes) I always start drawing any job by planning out to some degree the locales and trying to nail the characters. If they’re existing characters, I’ll draw them several times on rough paper just to get a feeling for them. The ideal when you’re drawing a comic is to have everything in your head, not to have to refer to notes  (Rough Starts Quotes) I started here in Australia, playing a lot of roles but never the lead guy in shows here. I always tended to play the rougher guy, the criminal who gets caught or shot by the cops. Or the boyfriend from the wrong side of the tracks  (Rough Starts Quotes) I started in junior high doing the splits and flips and that kind of stuff. It was kind of the acceptable thing to do. But I had two older brothers, so I was a tomboy. I was the cute tomboy who could put on the skirt but then go tackle you or something. Then I began drawing shapes within those shapes and I was amazed how quickly the islands got better. It took off from there  (Rough Starts Quotes) We start out talking about the story, trying to figure out who is who and what should happen, taking notes the whole time. Then I do a rough layout of the issue, showing what happens on each page. Then we discuss that some more  (Rough Starts Quotes)
