Text Quotes
I have a large personal collection of pictures. For every project, I choose images. Usually I don’t do this until I’ve done an extensive script breakdown and distilled the text down to poetic form. I have to plant enough seeds so that there will be vibration  (Poetic Quotes) Poetic success is when you write a poem that makes you excited and bewildered and aglow  (Poetic Quotes) Memory exercised in a particular way is a natural gift of poetic genius. The poet above all else, is a person who never forgets certain sense impressions which he has experienced and which he can relive again as though with all their original freshness  (Poetic Quotes) Shadow boxes become poetic theaters or settings wherein are metamorphosed the element of a childhood pastime  (Poetic Quotes) Faeries are not fantasy, but a connection to reality. Faeries are irrational, poetic, absurd, and very, very wise. Faeries say there is nonsense in dogma, and sense in nonsense. Faeries express themselves with high seriousness and low humour. Faeries are resistant to all definitions  (Poetic Quotes) Up to one’s last breath, one may retain the simple joys of childhood, the poetic ecstasies of the young person, the enthusiasms of maturity. Right to the end, one may intoxicate one’s spirit with flowers, with beauty and with smiles  (Poetic Quotes) Poetic justice, poetic justice.. if I told you that a flower bloom in a dark room would you trust it. I mean I write poems in these songs  (Poetic Quotes) Architecture is bound to situation. And I feel like the site is a metaphysical link, a poetic link, to what a building can be  (Poetic Quotes) Documenting trips makes them that much richer. I stick in train tickets and business cards from restaurants. It makes the whole experience poetic, describing the sights, smells and sounds around me. It means I can relive the holiday years later  (Poetic Quotes) I begin a book with imagery, more than I do with an idea or a character. Some kind of poetic image  (Poetic Quotes) Books have always helped me make sense of things. With any life experience, you can find someone who has documented it in a poetic way  (Poetic Quotes) I am an avid follower of the news, and sometimes you just can’t take any more war, any more disasters, and you want to remind yourself there’s beauty in the world. I wanted to show a more poetic side to my work. It was all about... a feeling of sadness, but in a cinematic kind of way. I find beauty in melancholy  (Poetic Quotes) Sign language is the equal of speech, lending itself equally to the rigorous and the poetic, to philosophical analysis or to making love  (Poetic Quotes) I am here to seduce you into a love of life; to help you to become a little more poetic; to help you die to the mundane and to the ordinary so that the extraordinary explodes in your life  (Poetic Quotes) Spatial art does not begin with a poetic mood or idea, but with construction of one or more figures, with the harmonizing of several colors and tones, or with the devaluation of spatial relationships and so on  (Poetic Quotes) Poetic language is singularly appropriate for recounting the life of the king who is traditionally accepted as the author of the poetic psalms, some of which are included in the narrative  (Poetic Quotes) As painters...we must always remember that our precious poetic visions and spiritual insights will remain forever locked within us until we can boil them down to a complex arrangement of a few hundred or possibly even thousands of brushstrokes  (Poetic Quotes) Science does not mean an idle resting upon a body of certain knowledge; it means unresting endeavor and continually progressing development toward an end which the poetic intuition may apprehend, but which the intellect can never fully grasp  (Poetic Quotes) Selectively pick a teacher, one that you respect, not just someone who can talk with wonderful poetic figures about enlightenment, but someone who has the personal power to bring you into altered states of awareness  (Poetic Quotes) I don’t try to be satirical. I just try to get what’s in my head on the page. And that part is hard for me to do. It takes a long, long time to make it poetic, somewhat essayistic  (Poetic Quotes) Paranoia imposes its own vision on the external world; it differs from other kinds of visionary experience in that the paranoid wants others to share his view-even insists on it. Paranoia is very like poetic creativity. This accounts for my fascination with certain people in whom this state of mind was evident: ‘characters’ met by chance, whose words and gestures would haunt me for years until, finally, in a poem I was able to dispel them  (Poetic Quotes) It is true that the sky was always beautiful but I don’t remember marvelling at sunset or gazing at the dawn of a new day. Survival does not allow time for poetic reflection  (Poetic Quotes) I like each of my books to be different. Once I’ve done something I like to move on and push myself to learn new things and expand the limits of poetic form  (Poetic Quotes) What we cannot express by the art of thinking, by the art of science or philosophy or logic, we can and should express by the poetic, visual, or some other arts  (Poetic Quotes) There can be no society without poetry, but society can never be realized as poetry, it is never poetic. Sometimes the two terms seek to break apart. They cannot  (Poetic Quotes) Admittedly or not, conscious or unconscious, the poetic state, a transcendent experience of life, is what the public is fundamentally seeking through love, crime, drugs, war, or insurrection  (Poetic Quotes) Remember picture books are the closest form of writing to a poem. Even though they don’t have to rhyme, they must be poetic. They must be written so the worst actress can read with comfort and expression  (Poetic Quotes) What we know for sure is that metaphor is the raw uranium of poetry, and that an urge to say that one thing is like something else is one of the earliest markers of the poetic spirit, the nascent poet  (Poetic Quotes) Poetic and speculative photographs can result if one works carefully and accurately, yet letting chance relationships have full play  (Poetic Quotes) I know that we live after death and again and again, not in the memory of our children, or as a mulch for trees and flowers, however poetic that may be, but looking passionately and egocentrically out of our eyes  (Poetic Quotes)
