Text Quotes
I had decent but not great grades in high school because I was highly motivated in some subjects, like the arts, drama, English, and history, but in math and science I was a screw-up. Wooster saw something in me, and I really flourished there. I got into theatre, took photography and painting classes.  (Painting Quotes) I was always interested in the arts as a child - drawing, painting, and piano - but acting became a favourite. I was a major theatre geek in high school - if I wasn’t in the drama room at lunch rehearsing, I’d be in the art room finishing up some type of project.  (Painting Quotes) I don’t know just what, but there will have to be some drastic changes made besides cutting down on boating to get my mind more on painting.  (Painting Quotes) I’ve always loved painting and drawing. I wish I’d developed it more and exhibited.  (Painting Quotes) I have always loved science, but I have always loved the arts - drawing, painting and, yes, writing - more.  (Painting Quotes) I wrote as a kid, but I never wanted to be a writer, particularly. I had been drawing and painting for years and loved that.  (Painting Quotes) Man is driven to create; I know I really love to create things. And while I’m not good at painting, drawing, or music, I can write software.  (Painting Quotes) I have always enjoyed drawing and painting but I don’t always find the time to do much these days.  (Painting Quotes) When I was in high school, I thought I might be an artist. I was very good at drawing and painting.  (Painting Quotes) I do feel like animated films really combine a lot of different of art forms: film-making and writing and drawing and painting - to a certain extent, even sculpting. It’s a wonderful medium to work with as a craftsman because it’s such so rich and so varied and so expressive.  (Painting Quotes) I did photography, painting, and drawing, but I prefer sculpture. I like it because it’s very physical.  (Painting Quotes) I’ve been painting and drawing and taking pictures as long as I’ve been writing music - and I’ve actually been drawing longer than I’ve been writing music.  (Painting Quotes) I haven’t stopped painting or drawing - I’ve just added another medium  (Painting Quotes) Painting, drawing - I’m really into photography, I’ve done it since high school  (Painting Quotes) Try drawing or painting a scene you’re working on. Often this will help free up you imagination.  (Painting Quotes) I go out each morning and draw. I can’t really start a painting in the morning until I’ve done a drawing.  (Painting Quotes) Yeah, I mean I am somebody that makes an effort to go and see a lot of exhibitions, painting, drawing, sculpture.  (Painting Quotes) Drawing is the artist’s most direct and spontaneous expression, a species of writing: it reveals, better than does painting, his true personality.  (Painting Quotes) I would always be painting and drawing. If I was stuck at home, I was in the basement working on a painting.  (Painting Quotes) It’s weird making a drawing of painting. I start to realize that charcoal is this incredibly fragile material. I’m making images of paintings out of dust.  (Painting Quotes) Lorelei sat at the window of her drawing room, painting in the fading daylight. It was yet another portrait of Jack, her favorite piece of fruit.  (Painting Quotes) Over the years I always did some water colors, and I did a series of pictures of drawings. I always did it during a period of time that was slow in the photo business, but in essence it was always frustrating because I’d get started, and then it would be time to get back to work and I wouldn’t get anywhere with the painting.  (Painting Quotes) In 1958 I finally found a large enough apartment on the Lower East Side, where I reverted to figure painting. I drew and painted quite a lot of figures and nudes. People would come and pose for me.  (Painting Quotes) The arts community is generally dominated by liberals because if you are concerned mainly with painting or sculpture, you don’t have time to study how the world works. And if you have no understanding of economics, strategy, history and politics, then naturally you would be a liberal.  (Painting Quotes) Make a painting you can work on for a long period, and make it look like it doesn’t show any effort.  (Painting Quotes) My mom dressed me in silk to go to elementary school. In kindergarten, they sent me home because I couldn’t do finger painting in my dress.  (Painting Quotes) Everything I do, it’s a bit painterly. I like being surrounded by objects, mostly on paper. I like the images. I like the painting. I like good photography. It’s something that makes me an emotional connection, and I feel comfortable around it.  (Painting Quotes) In my early work, I tried to hide my personality, my psychological state, my emotions. This was partly due to my feelings about myself and party due to my feelings about painting at the time. I sort of stuck to my guns for a while but eventually it seemed like a losing battle. Finally one must simply drop the reserve.  (Painting Quotes) The process is only a means to an end-creating the painting I want. It doesn’t mean anything itself. It’s only a way of creating a result.  (Painting Quotes) I enjoy painting, cutting the lawn and working in the garden when I have time. That’s therapy for me. I enjoy working with my hands.  (Painting Quotes)
