Text Quotes
When we get together and rehearse, which is always living with each other, we always talk about what would make it better, what would mean more, what would say more. So we’re always improving and growing  (Mean Quotes) I guess I still feel that I’m a comedian; if I had to pick one thing that I feel like I could do, it would be that. That doesn’t mean that I like it, but I feel that’s what I am  (Mean Quotes) It’s not the events of our lives that shape us, but our beliefs as to what those events mean  (Mean Quotes) I mean I appreciate fan mail and that the people like what I am doing but I can’t answer it. If I would answer 25 letters a day I would be just a guy answering mail and not an artist anymore  (Mean Quotes) Being an artist doesn’t mean that you’re a good artist. That was the bargain I first made with myself: I’d say, I’m an artist, but I’m not really very good  (Mean Quotes) I mean, I can get things done if I need to, but I can really be completely irresponsible and procrastinate until the very, very, very bitter end. In fact, sometimes I work better under pressure  (Mean Quotes) I want an ending that’s satisfying. I’m more of a classical writer than a modernist one in that I want the ending to be coherent and feel like an ending. I don’t like when it just seems to putter out. I mean, life is chaotic enough  (Mean Quotes) I think sometimes that people think brave means not being afraid, which of course it doesn’t mean that at all. It means that you’re afraid, but you move past that and do it anyway, do what you think is right  (Mean Quotes) What most people in our culture mean by being lovable is essentially a mixture between being popular and having sex appeal  (Mean Quotes) We don’t know where our first impressions come from or precisely what they mean, so we don’t always appreciate their fragility  (Mean Quotes) When I say manage emotions, I only mean the really distressing, incapacitating emotions. Feeling emotions is what makes life rich. You need your passions  (Mean Quotes) Living creatively is really important to maintain throughout your life. And living creatively doesn’t mean only artistic creativity, although that’s part of it. It means being yourself, not just complying with the wishes of other people  (Mean Quotes) I don’t want to be 60 years old standing on stage telling some jokes. I want my life to mean something  (Mean Quotes) I don’t mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that’s how it comes out  (Mean Quotes) I mean, what would I be doing if I couldn’t write? But that fortunately hasn’t proved to be the case and I can read any day. I still read a lot, and I can write any day, but much more slowly and fewer words  (Mean Quotes) But, I would always be thinking of how pictures are constructed and colour, how to use it, I mean you’re using it for constructing, makes you think about it, the place did as well  (Mean Quotes) Yes, I did, I mean I painted er, in a kind of abstract expressionist way, because of course that was exciting  (Mean Quotes) Whoever cultivates the golden mean avoids both the poverty of a hovel and the envy of a palace  (Mean Quotes) Prayer gives a man the opportunity of getting to know a gentleman he hardly ever meets. I do not mean his maker, but himself  (Mean Quotes) I don’t begin a novel or a screenplay until I know the ending. And I don’t mean only that I have to know what happens. I mean that I have to hear the actual sentences. I have to know what atmosphere the words convey  (Mean Quotes) Aggressive, tough and defiant may describe me, but that leaves the impression I’m mean and I’m not. People expect me to have fangs  (Mean Quotes) So now 20 years later people want us to get together so they can take shots at all these old babes trying to get back some youth. I mean come on; I’ve been there. I know what the press would do  (Mean Quotes) Tis the common disease of all your musicians that they know no mean, to be entreated, either to begin or end  (Mean Quotes) It’s quite highly possible that I have peaked. I mean, I just can’t imagine what else I could do beyond this. It’s really a bittersweet kind of feeling  (Mean Quotes) The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean; not to affect your reader, but to affect him precisely as you wish  (Mean Quotes) That was a wonderful period in my life. I mean, I didn’t become an artist, but somebody let me do something I loved. What a luxury, to do something you love to do  (Mean Quotes) I don’t mean this, but I’m going to say it anyway. I don’t really think of pop art and serious art as being that far apart  (Mean Quotes) I have not wanted to intimidate audiences. I have not wanted my dancing to be an elitist form. That doesn’t mean I haven’t wanted it to be excellent  (Mean Quotes) One will rarely err if extreme actions be ascribed to vanity, ordinary actions to habit, and mean actions to fear  (Mean Quotes) I mean, I wouldn’t pay more than a couple of quid to see me, and I’m me  (Mean Quotes)
