Text Quotes
The story line of my novel [The Kite Runner] is largely fictional. The characters were invented and the plot imagined.  (Kite Quotes) When the wind is against you, like a kite, have your chord of faith rooted and you would fly highest ever.  (Kite Quotes) I don’t see my artist friends as any more neurotic or addiction-prone than the others. The roommates I have had who were into triathlons or environmentalism were just as crazy as the poets, just as prone to tears over gardening or air conditioners, just as ready to kite a cheque or binge on cookie dough.  (Kite Quotes) I’ve been doing a lot of different cross-training and kickboxing and Capoeira and kite surfing, and I’ve just really been back to what I consider my original athletic self.  (Kite Quotes) The optimist pleasantly ponders how high his kite will fly; the pessimist woefully wonders how soon his kite will fall  (Kite Quotes) He had the blue kite in his hands; that was the first thing I saw. And I can’t lie now and say my eyes didn’t scan it for any rips  (Kite Quotes) Honestly, I thought I was going to be a kite forever, suffocating inside a little feathery prison. And he had the nerve to make fun!  (Kite Quotes) I wish I was more stupid because I’m either completely ecstatic and joyous and absolutely high as a kite or I’m a bit morbid. There’s never anything in between  (Kite Quotes) The wolf dreads the pitfall, the hawk suspects the snare, and the kite the covered hook  (Kite Quotes) You will find truth more quickly through delight than gravity. Let out a little more string on your kite  (Kite Quotes) If a painting contains no abstraction nor impressionistic elements, it is a kite that will never fly. But if the painting completely breaks the connection between human feeling and the object portrayed, the kite string has been broken. I try to keep the line unbroken  (Kite Quotes) A kite can be flown in an absolute vacuum if it can be towed at the speed of light  (Kite Quotes) Your soul can fly outward, stringed to your ribcage like a shimmering kite in the shape of an open hand. Be still and listen to the evidence of your own holiness  (Kite Quotes) Someone once told me that children are like kites. You struggle just to get them in the air; they crash; you add a longer tail. Then they get caught in a tree; you climb up and bring them down, and untangle the string; you run to get them aloft again. Finally, the kite is airborne, and it flies higher and higher, as you let out more string, until it’s so high in the sky, it looks like a bird. And if the string snaps, and you’ve done your job right, the kite will continue to soar in the wind, all by itself  (Kite Quotes) We are all instruments pulling the bows across our own lungs. Windmills, still startling in every storm. Have you ever seen a newborn blinking at the light? I wanna do that every day. I wanna know what the kite called itself when it got away, when it escaped into the night  (Kite Quotes) I’ve flown kites before and I know – sometimes they’re gone forever, and sometimes they’re just waiting in the middle of the road for you to rescue them. Kites can be lucky or they can be ornery. I’ve had both kinds, and a lucky kite is definitely worth chasing for  (Kite Quotes) Anyone who has ever had the feeling of being higher than a kite after giving a public speech is well aware of the effects of attention  (Kite Quotes) The nets not stretched to catch the hawk, or kite, who do us wrong; but laid for those Who do us none at all  (Kite Quotes) It can't be all you. Just like you need air to fly a kite. It's not the kite. It's the air  (Kite Quotes) Who finds the partridge in the puttock's nest but may imagine how the bird was dead, although the kite soar with unbloodied beak?  (Kite Quotes)
