My mother believed in the power of words, and my father obviously did too  (Grew Up Quotes) I never felt hard done by and never wanted for anything, but I grew up in a wealthy area where I saw people being handed things on a plate. She’s a very independent woman and I admire that about her. In my life, I’ve tried to be like that. So broken heart strings bled the blues as we tried to empty ourselves so we would feel nothing.
