Text Quotes
I do some concerts. At the moment, I’m being helped a lot by a gig I play in London, which is Pizza Express  (Gig Quotes) One of them would definitely be the Nelson Mandela gig, when I played the tribute song for him. He was up and dancing, and he really enjoyed it. It was a really lovely occasion  (Gig Quotes) I went to Montreal. My first gig went very badly. They just weren’t laughing at anything. I found out they were a load of Christians, and it was a gig to raise money for a new church roof  (Gig Quotes) I saw my first gig here actually (Festival Hall in Brisbane) Duran Duran  (Gig Quotes) As a fanboy myself, one of the fun things about the gig has been every time I get a new script, I get to find out more about his day - to-day life and what goes on and what his relationships are  (Gig Quotes) People don’t recognize me from gig to gig. They have no idea. But, that’s really what I strive to do. I strive to stip myself down completely and build another human and become them  (Gig Quotes) I had been playing with my local band, Skinny Cat. I had been to quite a few auditions before UFO, managed to get the gig and then not want to do it!  (Gig Quotes) It’s always good to play New York. The Apollo is a great gig. I loved that  (Gig Quotes) I had a great time on News Radio, I got to make tons of money in relative obscurity and learn a lot about the TV biz and work on my standup act constantly. It was a dream gig  (Gig Quotes) Music is a gut thing. You’re working in a medium which is more in touch with the primal than the modern. A gig is a ritual. There’s a congregation  (Gig Quotes) I realized that performing was what I wanted to do when I did my first professional gig as a dancer with my company Synergy in Canada. I was overwhelmed with how it felt to perform in front of an audience  (Gig Quotes) I’ve played lots of villains in my time and I think the reason they’ve been so successful is that they’re not two-dimensional. They’re not black and white. That’s the gig  (Gig Quotes) New York musicians rarely have the time for idle chat and conversation after a gig. Despite popular assumption of our scintillating after-hours, that illusion is overtaken by the constant hustle to juggle a part-time or full-time job, a myriad of errands, a second or third gig of the day, and perhaps a child or two somewhere  (Gig Quotes) I graduated from a place called Whitworth College in Spokane with a theater degree, then in 1993 I moved to L.A. and auditioned and did very well there. My first gig was playing a skinhead in John Singleton’s ‘Higher Learning’, and I played Glenn Close’s son in a TV movie called ‘Serving In Silence.’  (Gig Quotes) Of course, uh, the universe is gradually slowing down and, uh, will eventually collapse inwardly on itself, according to the laws of entropy when all it’s thermal and mechanical functions fail, thus rendering all human endeavors ultimately pointless. Just to put the gig in some sort of context  (Gig Quotes) Moving to Australia was not a career move, but a quality of life issue. It has no guns, no God, and no gangster rap. As an Ethiopian cab driver said to me the other day when I was returning from a gig in Sydney, Australia is a peaceful, democratic place. I like the relatively stress free lifestyle. It’s worth the drop in income  (Gig Quotes) I’d love to be a hit in Germany. I’m working on trying to get a gig as David Hasselhoff’s opening act  (Gig Quotes) I feel like I’m always being challenged by my voice acting roles, for multiple different reasons. I still get nervous every time I book a gig  (Gig Quotes) I’m always sad when a gig ends. No matter how long the shoot, you become a family for the period of time you are together, and then you separate and rarely see each other for a long time after.  (Gig Quotes) When you go to a concert, part of being there is that you’re all hearing the same thing. It’s about being in a crowd. If you go to a gig and there are two people there, then it’s not the same thing.  (Gig Quotes) Playing live is what it’s all about for me. It’s cathartic, it’s emotional, it’s about communing with people. The way you feel after a gig is a such a powerful thing.  (Gig Quotes) I’ve always loved working on series. The crew feels like a family and it’s nice to have a regular gig that you can count on.  (Gig Quotes) I will remember the night I won the New Comedy Awards, as I was young and unformed, so that sticks in the mind. I’ve also done a fantastic gig at the Royal Albert Hall, which was amazing. Appearing in the Christopher Guest film was also a real highlight, even if I was only in it for a couple of minutes.  (Gig Quotes) I wake up every morning, and life is different. I’ve got a gig or a shoot. Flying here, flying there. Meeting wicked people. Going to amazing places. I’m relishing it.  (Gig Quotes) I love entertaining people, I love playing music, and I love rocking like an animal. But at a certain point, you’re playing gig after gig after gig, in town after town after town, and you’re lying down, staring at another hotel-room ceiling, and it’s like, ‘I want to be home. I’m a dad. I’ve got kids.’  (Gig Quotes) I love the press; I even like the people that don’t like me. If it wasn’t for those people, no one would know who I was and I wouldn’t have a gig.  (Gig Quotes) My very first gig was with the Sex Pistols, and it was also our first-ever gig. It was a very short set, and it was at Saint Martins College of Art in 1975. We were opening up for a band called Bazooka Joe, and their bass player at the time was Adam Ant, who went on to form Adam and the Ants.  (Gig Quotes) I joined an all-girl band in Detroit and, although I was a pianist and drummer, I was asked to play bass because no one else wanted to. When I strapped it on, it fit me as good as my leathers. At the first gig we played, I looked out at the audience and thought, ‘This is what I’m going to be doing for the rest of my life.’  (Gig Quotes) I was 28, and my mom was living with me. I had to decide. You have to claim it; you can’t ask permission. After a gig in Singapore, she went home, I went to New York on my own, I packed her stuff in boxes and sent it home. I don’t think she liked me for a while for doing that. It was something I needed to do to carve out my own space.  (Gig Quotes) A lot of comedians, when they have a bad gig, will blame everything but themselves. They’ll blame the crowd, or the room was wrong, it had a weird vibe, or the promoter promoted a weird atmosphere.  (Gig Quotes)
