Text Quotes
I got a chance to have my dream come true, and I wanted to make sure I made the decision as to when I dropped my last album. If I don’t feel like this album is an incredible piece of work, then I’m cool with the albums I’ve done. I don’t have to put out another album.  (Album Quotes) I never stopped writing music, I just stopped writing songs. I’ve been writing music continually ever since the last album of original tunes, River Of Dreams in 93.  (Album Quotes) Two Voices,’ from my album with Peter Schwalm, is an intact dream-poem. I awoke one night with an image of a piece of paper and all the words of the poem written on it, so I just blundered down to the kitchen table and ‘copied it out.’  (Album Quotes) According to Life and Style Weekly, 50 Cent may be working on Lindsay Lohan’s next album. Finally, a match made in rap heaven. He’s a convicted drug dealer who’s been shot nine times, and she spent 84 minutes in prison. This is a big step for Lindsay. The last time Lindsay got near a black guy she ran over his foot.  (Album Quotes) It’s a spirit that was given me and the relationships and meeting all these great people, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong; through Max I met a lot of people too. My first album was with Benny Carter.  (Album Quotes) I had just left Yes and had done a concert at Crystal Palace, South London, with a choir and orchestra playing my solo album ‘Journey To The Centre Of The Earth’ when I had my heart attack. That day, I hadn’t been to bed for four days. I don’t remember much. I felt very numb during the day and airy, which is the best way to describe it.  (Album Quotes) I could have taken the easy life and just done classical, but I felt very strongly about the album, my first pop album, the first time that I’d fused so many influences. I was very proud when it was in the charts in 25 countries at once.  (Album Quotes) After the Ed Sullivan Show, Feb. 9, 1964, at approx. 8:04pm [laughs], after that moment every album, every guitar, evey set of drums that was ever sold ... 10% should have gone right into their pocket!  (Album Quotes) After playing so many songs in churches for eight or nine years, I’ve learned what songs people react to. Then I just had fun with the arrangements. That’s how this album came together.  (Album Quotes) The only criticism heard with any frequency of Elton John’s first American album, ‘Elton John,’ was that the production was too grandiose. The melodies were superb, and lyrics frequently very good, and the performances flawless.  (Album Quotes) As long as Elton John can bring forth one performance per album on the order of ‘Someone Saved My Life Tonight,’ the chance remains that he will become something more than the great entertainer he already is and go on to make a lasting contribution to rock.  (Album Quotes) If you start out trying to achieve a specific thing - like doing stadium shows or going into the studio and doing an album - the end result is what counts.  (Album Quotes) When you spend two to three years working on an album that I feel very happy with the end result, there is nothing I would change. Musically, I have achieved what I set out to do.  (Album Quotes) Even though the album is an endangered species, can we try and make a coherent and good one, even if it’s like making a horse and cart at a Nascar conference?  (Album Quotes) I’ll always have a totally open mind to endless possibilities. I want to do a dance album. Not Techno, but a record that’s exclusively designed for people to dance to. That whole dance genre is kinda into its own world. I’d just like to get in there and mess around with that.  (Album Quotes) There was an enormous amount of pressure when my first album took off, and I struggled with the speed of everything and the exhaustion from the constant touring.  (Album Quotes) Trilogy’ was more of a claustrophobic body of work. Before it was released, I hadn’t left my city for 21 years, and I had never been on a plane, not once. I spent my entire life on one setting; that’s probably why pieces of the album feel like one long track, because that’s what my life felt like. It felt like one long song.  (Album Quotes) It’s really a sad story, and I liked that. The songs on this album talk about relationships in every aspect.  (Album Quotes) I found the most difficult thing when you became successful - when I had the record album, it won Album of the Year - that you were cut off from the source of your material. Your material was everyday people, and you were kind of cut off from that, and you had to work at it.  (Album Quotes) We do things on an exchange basis in the music business - it keeps the wheels turning. That’s how I can get people like Slash, Flea and Kris Kristofferson on my album. Collaboration should be done through trades rather than charging each other a fortune.  (Album Quotes) If you take the hard facts of a failed relationship, it’s pretty grim. But if you make an album out of it, and if the violins represent all the tears, you create something magical out of something very normal.  (Album Quotes) When you have a very hot single there is no reason why it can’t drive album sales. People fall off and come back on. I’m looking forward to coming back on with a vengeance.  (Album Quotes) What ends up in your scrapbook? The pictures where you look like a good guy and a good family man, and the children look adorable - and they’re screaming the next minute. I’ve never seen a family album of screaming people.  (Album Quotes) I made the first Feist album in 98. So at that point, it was my nickname. It was as far as with my circle of friends, and just felt more accurate than two names.  (Album Quotes) In my head, I consider ‘No Turning Back’ my ‘dipping the toe in the water’ album. It was mostly covers of favorite songs, and there were three originals in there. So, it feels like it was just my album to see what the temperature of the water was.  (Album Quotes) You ask a person what their personal favorite song on the album is, and it’s literally the one with the least amount of listens if you looked at the statistics of it.  (Album Quotes) [Carnival Ride] is part of a line from my favorite song on the album, Wheel of the World. It sums up everything that’s happened to me. It’s nuts to think of where I was a couple of years ago.  (Album Quotes) I just don’t think people listen. I mean, they can’t listen to a whole album closely without checking their iPhone or wanting to skip to their favorite song, or putting something else on, practically. That’s why the zone out is a good thing.  (Album Quotes) Everyone’s just extracting meaning and feeling and emotion from almost every aspect of music, and I think that for me, it’s a huge antidote to that to have a concept album.  (Album Quotes) I definitely consider ‘Poses’ - the whole album in fact - to be kind of a miracle. Like the last breath of that moment when decadence is healthy, ‘Poses’ encapsulates that feeling. It’s a kind of song and a kind of album that I’ll never be able to repeat.  (Album Quotes)
