You are totally cut off from the rest of the world, submerged in your obsessions and memories  (Writing And Memory Quotes) What began the change was the very writing itself. Let no one lightly set about such a work. Memory, once waked, will play the tyrant  (Writing And Memory Quotes) As a novelist, I mined my history, my family and my memory, but in a very specific way. Writing fiction, I never made use of experiences immediately as they happened. I needed to let things fester in my memory, mature and transmogrify into something meaningful  (Writing And Memory Quotes) We are all looking for something of extraordinary importance whose nature we have forgotten; I am writing the memoirs of a man who has lost his memory  (Writing And Memory Quotes) I write in order to find out what I truly know and how I really feel about certain things. Writing requires me to go much deeper into my thoughts and memories than conversation does. Writing provides the solitude necessary to reflect on being in this world  (Writing And Memory Quotes)
