Mediocrity is a hand rail

Charles Louis de Secondat, also known as Montesquieu, was a French philosopher and political thinker who is best known for his work "The Spirit of the Laws." In this seminal work, Montesquieu explores the idea of the separation of powers within a government and the importance of checks and balances to prevent tyranny. However, one of his lesser-known but equally important ideas is the concept that "mediocrity is a handrail."
