Text Quotes
I began doing writing projects and art and design projects to explore a new way of seeing Canada. Roots is one more way of continuing this exploration. I want to present a wide-open Canadian sense of color, adventure, communication and openness that defines our country.  (Canadian Quotes) Canadian weather resembles a slightly spoiled beautiful girl with a good heart, but a bad disposition. After being horrid for much too long a time, she suddenly turns right about and makes up for everything with so much charm that you vow again you always loved her!  (Canadian Quotes) It’s a beautiful drive across the United States. It’s so interesting. I’m a proud Canadian, and there are so many beautiful parts of Canada, but the United States also has incredible diversity in its landscape.  (Canadian Quotes) The hardest part of being a Canadian kid is having to color in Nunavut with a crayon in school, hell on earth.  (Canadian Quotes) You can’t be Canadian without being aware of at least one other country, the United States, ‘cause it’s so important to us. I think we sometimes like to think that, you know, Americans will pay attention to us from time to time, too.  (Canadian Quotes) I feel like Canadian movies should be as good or better than the competition because of the talent we have here. Someone like Ryan Gosling shouldn’t have to come back here because it’s a Canadian movie. He should want to come back because some of the best movies are being made here.  (Canadian Quotes) I can’t think of this country without Quebec. Je parle francais. And when I think about being a Canadian, speaking French is part of it.  (Canadian Quotes) I don’t denounce being Canadian at any point, but I’m definitely proud to be an American  (Canadian Quotes) If you move to Canada, after a few years you call yourself Canadian. In Germany, it’s difficult to belong.  (Canadian Quotes) I always remind myself that the world is bigger than Hollywood, because I need to. Being Canadian and from Winnipeg, I have the spirit of a dreamer because of the cold, and being in the basement thinking of possibilities of where else I can be in the world, in a good way!  (Canadian Quotes) I have big hope for the Canadian government to help Somalia with something concrete and tangible. I haven’t seen that.  (Canadian Quotes) I played pretty darn competitive-level hockey. Then the good old knee injury. Obviously, it’s a blessing in disguise, but growing up Canadian, that’s our religion, that’s our football.  (Canadian Quotes) I just am a Canadian. It is not a thing which you can escape from. It is like having blue eyes  (Canadian Quotes) Justin Bieber’s tour bus was stopped by Canadian border patrol agents. And they found marijuana. The agents said Bieber was a disgrace to Canada and should never come back. Then they found the marijuana.  (Canadian Quotes) My half-suppressed Canadian years, my whole childhood and youth, rose like a corpse from the bottom of the sea to confront me.  (Canadian Quotes) Our Government is pleased to partner with the Kelowna Visual and Performing Arts Centre Society, located in the heart of British Columbia’s vibrant Central Okanagan region. Support for the performing arts is essential for the professional growth and development of our Canadian artists.  (Canadian Quotes) My mum was a children’s librarian, so I spent a lot of time in the library. My reading life, because of my mum’s work, was evenly split between American, Canadian, Australian and British authors.  (Canadian Quotes) Some people try to say I’m British by the way I’m speaking. But I think I’m more Canadian, because I speak really slow. Midwestern and Canadian.  (Canadian Quotes) I don’t think Canada is very inexpensive anymore. I travel there all the time; it’s rather on the expensive side. I think there’s significant risk to the Canadian economy.  (Canadian Quotes) We’re one of the largest employers in Canada for animation executives, and there is - I think something on the magnitude of $140 million a year be important to the Canadian economy producing animation for Netflix.  (Canadian Quotes) When you go back and look at American history, it’s not terribly different from Canadian history. If you weren’t self-reliant on the prairie, you wouldn’t survive.  (Canadian Quotes) Burton Cummings joining the Guess Who in January 1966 changed my life forever. It’s been a rocky affiliation, no doubt. One journalist once described our relationship as the longest running soap opera in Canadian history. That may be a bit oversimplified.  (Canadian Quotes) There are two miracles in Canadian history. The first is the survival of French Canada, and the second is the survival of Canada.  (Canadian Quotes) I know a lot about Canadian politics. I lived in Canadian bars for six years.  (Canadian Quotes) I’m a Canadian who can’t vote, so far be it from me to speak for what Americans want. But, I am also a close observer of politics and media in this country, and the intersection of both - and how both intersect, and overlap with, each other.  (Canadian Quotes) We associate the North Atlantic with cod. The motto of Newfoundland used to be ‘In cod we trust.’ It was a joke, but it was essentially true. But there is no cod anymore. And that’s extraordinary. It’s all because of either greed or politics - Canadian politics.  (Canadian Quotes) What everybody forgets is that when I was a journalist in Britain and in the United States, I was always a Canadian. And the price of expatriation does not go down, it goes up. I never felt part of the political common sense of Britain. I never felt it in the United States. I had no natural home in Britain and the U.S.  (Canadian Quotes) When I was young, my father had a serious heart attack. He survived, but we lost our house and car. Under the Canadian Medicare system, though, we would have kept the house and car and would have just had to pay the inheritance tax.  (Canadian Quotes) Even though I’m very Westernized as an individual and very Canadian, I guess I’ve lost some of my Chinese culture.  (Canadian Quotes) The Canadian circle in L.A. is really close. There’s a magnet effect where we all just huddle together somehow. It’s one big Canadian family, really.  (Canadian Quotes)
