Text Quotes
Funny songs aren’t usually that good. Like Weird Al and maybe a couple of Beatles songs, but it’s kind of hard to bring humor into rock music in an interesting way.  (Beatles Quotes) People have made a living deconstructing Lennon and The Beatles songs because of their compositional sophistication. But what’s so exciting about John is that he never had any of that training on musical theory; something just spoke to him, and he just knew what sounded right.  (Beatles Quotes) I don’t know any Beatles songs. My dad never listened to Elvis or Sting or Bowie. Any band name that’s on a t-shirt, I probably won’t know their music, like AC/DC or whatever. I don’t know what that is. As a kid, I would sing along to artists like Tania Maria.  (Beatles Quotes) My grandfather lived across the garden from us, and in his attic he had a lot of radios, appliances and inventions that he had made over 50 years, such as a keyboard called a clavioline, which can be heard on some Beatles songs - it was popular in the 60s. So we had all that at home.  (Beatles Quotes) I don’t like hearing Beatles songs in commercials. It almost renders them useless. I think, ‘Oh God, another one bites the dust.’  (Beatles Quotes) Do you remember when everyone began analyzing Beatles songs..I don’t think I ever understood what some of them were supposed to be about  (Beatles Quotes) The Beatles. I didn’t like the first couple of songs, but when I heard She Loves You’, it was like something went off in my head.  (Beatles Quotes) I knew the Beatles songs and how influential they are to other bands, but I’m not a fanatic, so I could look outside the box and observe.  (Beatles Quotes) Danny and I wrote 10 songs in seven days, which I thought might be close to the record until you probably look at some of the Beatles statistics.  (Beatles Quotes) It was great fun to be able to work with so many different artists. And I’m paying a tribute to the Beatles. I’ve just recorded some of their songs.  (Beatles Quotes) What can you say about a twenty-five-year-old girl who died? That she was beautiful. And brilliant. That she loved Mozart and Bach. And the Beatles. And me.  (Beatles Quotes) I have a 14 year old daughter now. You know, it was that time in these kids lives when these girls are becoming women and the hormones are raging. They didn’t know if The Beatles were any good, they just went for it ‘cause The Beatles were attractive.  (Beatles Quotes) The interesting thing about the Beatles was: The music was one thing, but we kind of symbolized a certain kind of freedom at a time when people of our generation were just growing up and just becoming adults.  (Beatles Quotes) All music is rehash. There are only a few notes. Just variations on a theme. Try to tell the kids in the Seventies who were screaming to the Bee Gees that their music was just The Beatles redone. There is nothing wrong with the Bee Gees.  (Beatles Quotes) I went from being a kid-kid, listen to everything from The Beatles through Kiss, Peter Frampton, Jethro Tull classic rock, classic stuff into immediately, it seemed like, Iron Maiden and stuff like that. The first Iron Maiden record and then, obviously, the first Metallica record.  (Beatles Quotes) England was always very special. It was so important because the reason Benny and I started writing was the Beatles. During the Sixties, England was everything. To be number one in England was more important than being number one in America because England set the tone.  (Beatles Quotes) Everybody trusted Cronkite because he reminded them of their favorite uncle or trusted family physician. Being square in the age of the Beatles made Cronkite retro cool.  (Beatles Quotes) I don’t believe in magic ... I don’t believe in Jesus ... I don’t believe in Buddha ... I don’t believe in Elvis ... I don’t believe in Beatles.  (Beatles Quotes) Songs came first. I started out in 1965 trying to copy the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and the Stones, like most kids I knew. I’m still trying. Songs are hard to beat.  (Beatles Quotes) With an older generation, there’s some weight carried with the Beatles. There’s almost like an untouchable, god-like force field around them.  (Beatles Quotes) When I was into The Beatles, I cut my hair into a Beatle haircut, which looked so ridiculously stupid with my little cat-eye glasses that I wore.  (Beatles Quotes) But times changed, and I changed, and I didn’t feel that way anymore. The Beatles were happening. I think that was probably the main thing. The Beatles just changed the whole world of music.  (Beatles Quotes) People say the Beatles were John Lennon. What is Paul McCartney? Chopped liver? But everyone has their own favourite members whose creativity they gravitate to. That’s normal.  (Beatles Quotes) I tried to emulate my favourite guitar players, the old bluesmen like Blind Willie McTell and Big Bill Broonzy. I used to sit by the record player and copy Chuck Berry and the Beatles. You can never copy someone completely, so you end up developing your own style.  (Beatles Quotes) I liked the Beatles but I wasn’t mad on the Stones. I always thought they were a slight rip-off of Chuck Berry and some of the old blues people, and they never seemed to change. If people compare me to Jagger and the Stones I would be the one to be put down ... I’ve been far more progressive than any of them.  (Beatles Quotes) I like all like classic rock bands like The Beatles and The Who and stuff and Led Zeppelin so I kinda dress like that. Kinda retro I guess. Well not retro but, like tight. I don’t know. Like just jeans and shirts. I don’t know. Kinda rock and roll I guess.  (Beatles Quotes) I grew up loving classic rock music - The Beatles, The Rolling Stones - and then one day I heard ‘Baby One More Time’ on the radio and I thought ‘What is this?’ I was eight and it changed my life.  (Beatles Quotes) I never went to rock concerts when I was a kid. I didn’t see any rock and roll bands. I had posters on my wall. I had Beatles records.  (Beatles Quotes) My parents were big music fans, and my dad plays music, so I grew up with Madonna, Frank Zappa, the Beatles, Alice In Chains... it was all over the place. I had a Third Eye Blind record, but I also had Korn, Courtney Love, and Shania Twain.  (Beatles Quotes) I liked a lot of the things other people liked - Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Van Halen, AC/DC - but if I compared it to my dad’s music, there just seemed to be elements missing.  (Beatles Quotes)
